The BWY Canine "Victim Recovery Dog Handler" Course aims to provide the learner with basic skills, knowledge and understanding required to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a Victim Recovery Dog Handler. This course is an assessment of the team's (dog and handler) ability to perform as a Victim Recovery Dog Team and for the handler to be able to read the indications given by a dog and to meet the required performance criteria, it's an assesment of the dog's ability in conjunction with the handler hence a pass certificate is awarded as a team being both dog and handler.
If you have your own suitable breed of dog with the abilty to be trained as an Victim Recovery Dog you are welcome to bring it on the course with you. Alternatively we provide part and fully trained dogs. An assessment weekend will take place prior to the start of the course in order to establish whether the handler and dog/s are sutiable to attend the course.
This is not an attendance course, students will be continually assessed throughout with many topics intended to improve the mental and physical ability of our students.
This course can be tailormade to meet the clients needs and we therefore ask that anyone interested in carrying out this course with us, contact us to tell us exactly what their requirements are. We are extremely flexible with our approach to training and advise you to contact us via email or telephone for more details.
This course can be delivered overseas in a country of your choice but ideally this particular course should be delivered here in the United kingdom.
The instructor for the Victim Recovery course has had many years experience in this field of dog and handler training with a UK Police Service.
