A man has been jailed for selling and storing illegal tobacco in Worthing, after sniffer dogs from Pembrokeshire based B.W.Y Canine Ltd found his hidden stashes.

In a statement, West Sussex County Council said Mohammed Hoshyar Khidir, 26, was sentenced to 27 months in prison after officers found 128 tobacco pouches and 478 packets of cigarettes at properties in Worthing and Poole in Dorset.


Several dogs from Pembrokeshire based B.W.Y Canine Ltd are to take centre stage in a new TV series, starting on Monday 5th November. The day-to-day work of Stuart Phillips will feature in a number of episodes on the new Quest Red TV series "Dog Detectives".

Sniffer dogs from Pembrokeshire based B.W.Y Canine Ltd and Trading Standards officers have been out in Port Talbot talking to the public about the sale of illegal tobacco in their communities.

It's a part of an international day of action marking World No Tobacco Day.

Spaniels, Yoyo, Scamp and Phoebe, have uncovered more than £12 million of illegal tobacco products in various raids across the UK, working with the police and tranding standards, for example.

 

More than 25,000 illegal cigarettes have been seized in raids on shops across Oxfordshire.

Trading Standards and police officers discovered the cigarettes - with an estimated street value of £8,000 - at shops in Witney and Cowley.

Officers from KCC Trading Standards, Kent Police and HMRC carried out several raids in Thanet this morning (March 26) as part of a wide-scale crackdown on the supply of illicit tobacco on the isle.
